Zhiyan “Lyrica” Yin
Founder
Greetings to you in health, love, and joy.
My name is Zhiyan “Lyrica” Yin.
I’m the founder of Yin Healing Paths, a mother, a dancer, a healing practitioner, and someone who is still learning how to live with more balance, awareness, and compassion.I grew up in the mountains of southern China.
As a child, I spent my days herding cows, collecting herbs, catching fish, and listening to my father play the Chinese fiddle in the early mornings.
Nature was my first teacher.I was also a very sensitive child.
I could feel emotions deeply, but often didn’t know how to express my own.Dance and Music became my first language of freedom.
Later, yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, meditation, breathwork, and sound healing became part of my life and personal healing journey.Through these practices, I slowly began to understand something important:
Sometimes healing is not about becoming stronger or more productive.
Sometimes it begins by learning how to slow down and reconnect with ourselves. In 2018, I became a mother for the first time.
It was also the first time I truly understood how fragile the body and life can be.Because of a congenital uterine condition, I experienced a difficult birth.
Then in 2020, after the birth of my second child, I suffered a severe postpartum hemorrhage. But the harder part was not surviving childbirth.
It was learning how to feel safe in my body again afterward.
For a long time, I struggled with anxiety, shallow breathing, insomnia, and exhaustion.
Even while holding my sleeping baby, my nervous system still felt like it was living in danger.I searched everywhere for answers.
Doctors, treatments, different healing approaches.Until one day, after feeling completely exhausted,
I returned to something very simple:Breathing.
Just a few quiet minutes each day.
Lying down.
Hands resting on my belly. On the first day, I cried within less than a minute.
Not because I was sad,
but because I suddenly realized:I could still feel.
That moment became the beginning of my healing journey.
Over the years, I’ve continued studying and practicing yoga, trauma-informed healing, mindfulness meditation, Qigong, sound healing, movement, and art therapy.
But what I’ve learned most is this:
Healing is not about becoming a perfect or fearless person.
It is about learning how to return to yourself,
again and again,
even during the difficult seasons of life.My children have also become my greatest teachers.
Through motherhood, I began to better understand emotions, relationships, family patterns, and the deeper stories we carry within the body.Later, I returned to China and lived with my parents for nearly three years.
That experience helped me reconnect not only with my family, but also with my roots, culture, and personal history.Sometimes what we think is only “our problem”
is actually part of a much larger story. If I had to describe myself,
I would say I’m like a wild tree. Not perfectly shaped.
Not growing in a straight line.
But always reaching toward the light.Yin Healing Paths is not a perfect healing space.
It is A place where I share breath, movement, sound, awareness, and the practices that have helped me slowly return to balance.
My hope is that this space can also become a gentle place for others to pause, breathe, reconnect, and feel a little less alone. If you’ve found your way here,
welcomeI am excited to join you on your journey.

Yin Healing Paths
Lyrica”
Yin Healing Paths

Byron Yee
Business Manager & Healing Guide
My name is Byron Yee.
I’m the Business Manager of Yin Healing Paths, as well as a long-time practitioner of Tai Chi, yoga, mindfulness, and integrative healing practices.I was born and raised in the United States.
My mother was a music teacher, and my father was an engineer, so I grew up between two worlds — creativity and practicality.
Throughout my childhood, I was encouraged to explore music, dance, theatre, and artistic expression, while also pursuing more traditional academic and business studies.Later, I graduated with a double major in Theatre Arts and Business Administration.
Those two paths shaped the way I understand life today:One side focused on emotion, expression, and human connection.
The other focused on structure, communication, and bringing ideas into reality. But growing up was not always easy for me.
As a child, I struggled with ADHD, attention challenges, and emotional overwhelm.
I also dealt with chronic sinus and breathing issues for many years, eventually undergoing two sinus surgeries. For much of my life, breathing did not feel effortless.
Something as simple as taking a deep breath could feel exhausting and uncomfortable, especially during illness or periods of stress.
Over ten years ago, I first discovered Tai Chi while living in China, where I was exploring my cultural roots and learning Chinese.
Years later, after experiencing anxiety and several high-stress work environments, I found myself returning to yoga and Tai Chi — but this time with a much deeper intention.
I began studying the mindfulness, breathwork, meditation, and internal awareness practices woven into these traditions.
Eventually, these practices stopped being just hobbies or exercise routines.
They became part of how I live.
For more than a decade, I have maintained a nearly daily practice of breathwork, yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, mindful movement, and self-awareness.
To me, mindfulness is not only something practiced during meditation.
It is a way of living.
How we breathe.
How we move.
How we communicate.
How we respond to stress, discomfort, and everyday life.Over the years, I have also continued studying Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal healing, sound therapy, and Eastern wellness philosophies, while exploring how these ancient systems can coexist with modern Western life.
For the past three years, I lived in China again, deepening my understanding of Eastern culture, healing traditions, and slower, more intentional ways of living.
One of the most meaningful discoveries in my own journey has been this:
As I continued practicing yoga, Tai Chi, breathwork, and mindful movement consistently over time, my chronic sinus and breathing issues improved significantly.
And I continue to practice, learn, heal, and grow every day.
I do not see myself as someone who has everything perfectly figured out.
But I have learned that true balance is not the absence of stress or difficulty.
It is having the tools to return to yourself, again and again.
Yin Healing Paths is more than just a brand to me.
It is a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, ancient wisdom and modern life.
Through this space, we hope to share practical and meaningful tools that help people reconnect with their breath, body, awareness, and daily lives in a more grounded and compassionate way.
If you are also searching for a more balanced, natural, and mindful way of living—
welcome 🌿

Byron Yee
Yin Healing Paths
Yin Healing Paths
